What is Level Access?

Level Access is a digital accessibility company that helps organizations test, remediate, and maintain accessible websites, mobile apps, and digital content. Founded in 1997 (originally as SSB Bart Group), Level Access combines an accessibility technology platform with AI-assisted testing and hands-on expert review, and its client roster includes organizations like Wells Fargo, Visa, Walmart, and Samsung.

Why SIDEARM partnered with Level Access?

Web accessibility isn't optional for college athletics sites — it's a legal requirement under the ADA and Section 504, and an area regularly scrutinized by the Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights and third-party litigation. SIDEARM already runs in-house accessibility remediation (crawling sites with tools like SortSite and manual review), but partnering with Level Access adds a specialized layer of independent auditing and remediation expertise on top of that work. The result is faster identification of issues, deeper compliance coverage, and an added layer of protection for SIDEARM's partner institutions against accessibility risk.

What are the benefits of partnering with Level Access?

Level Access runs scans biweekly on 500 pages of the site at a time. SIDEARM sets where the scan starts and then the scan goes 4-6 levels deep from that starting page, which provides us with a variety of pages to review. SIDEARM uses Level Access to identify accessibility issues in our platform, and it does the same for partner content. Level Access allows SIDEARM and our partners to work together to make the site as accessible as possible.
